Sunglasses Still Life

CGI Product & Motion by Krisztina Vichnál, CGI & 3D artist in Budapest.

A CGI eyewear still life and motion study focused on tinted lenses, translucent materials and colored caustics. The project uses controlled light to push a warm, summery product mood.

Summer Aesthetics

Sunglasses Still Life uses eyewear as an excuse to study translucency. The frames and lenses of each piece create a layered material system: opaque or semi-transparent plastic frames, tinted glass or polycarbonate lenses, metal hinges and detail work. The CGI still life compositions are built around how these materials interact with a single, controlled light source, and the motion sequences extend that study into time.

Material Study

Lens material was the central technical focus: getting the specific behavior of tinted glass right, how it colors transmitted light, sharpens or softens caustic patterns on surfaces below, and reflects the environment while maintaining its own color. Each lens color required individual shader calibration to read correctly under the same lighting conditions.
