Dior Backstage
CGI Beauty Still Life by Krisztina Vichnál, CGI & 3D artist in Budapest.
A CGI beauty still life series built around foundation bottles, the range of shades they hold and the sponges that apply them. Six compositions move from liquid satin and a pouring formula to a dark, monochrome stack, a lineup in studio light and sponges coated in foundation.
Shade and Surface
Dior Backstage is a personal CGI beauty series that treats a foundation range as a set of related objects rather than a single hero product. Each image changes the staging (draped satin, a pour of formula, a stacked arrangement in near-black, a clean lineup) while the bottles stay the constant, so the shades themselves carry the variation. The series closes on the makeup sponges, where the formula meets the tool that applies it.
Material Detail
The soft-touch bottles, polished metal caps and embossed lettering each needed their own response to light, as did the porous surface of the sponges against the smooth, glossy foundation. Reflections were shaped to define the caps and logotype without flattening the matte bodies, and post-production balanced the skin tones so every shade reads true against the dark backgrounds.
